A significant strength of our sixth form is the wide range of subjects we have on offer and the multiple combinations of subjects that students can take. We invite students to apply to one of three pathways:
A level pathway
– Study 3 – 4 AS levels
– Entry requirement 5 grades at 9 - 6
– Study a 120 credit BTEC and 1 A-level
– Entry requirement 3 grades at 9 -6
– Study a 180 credit BTEC
– Entry requirement 5 grades at 9 – 4 and English or Maths at a grade 4
All of these pathways lead to a place at university and we will help students to pick the pathway which is right for them to ensure that they achieve the best possible grades. In addition to this students aspiring to a top university have the opportunity to study for the extended project qualification. Any students who have not yet achieved a 5 in either English Language or Maths GCSE will receive timetabled lessons to prepare them to retake this qualification.
You can with individual subject entry requirements here.
When choosing their subjects students must ensure that they only choose one subject per timetable block.
For BTEC courses students doing a 120 credit BTEC must choose both Core blocks and students doing a 180 credit BTEC must choose both Core and the Option blocks.
You can view the option blocks here.
