Our vibrant and creative Art Department is made up of 5 Art teachers each offering a broad variety of skills ranging from Architecture, Photography, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Painting and Drawing. We are lucky enough to have large, bright spaces to create in. The combination of brilliant teachers and fantastic space makes the Art Department a relaxed, fun and inspirational place to work. Students’ learning is supported by excellent ICT facilities; these include digital photography, printers, interactive whiteboards & the image manipulation packages, Photoshop & Illustrator. Over the 3 key stages students are introduced to a variety of different techniques in order to prepare them for the exciting key stage 4 years if they so choose. Our GCSE and A level Art and Design courses are designed not only for anyone who intends to pursue a career in the Art world but for those pupils who wish to broaden their field of knowledge and extend their creative and expressive skills. Many art careers link with science, technology, media, computing and humanities as well as other aesthetic subjects. The career opportunities available in the art world are vast and diverse. Jobs are available in broadcasting and media, advertising and publishing, theatre and costume, film and special effects, graphics and many more.
