Gifted and Talented Scholarship for Gifted and Talented

Congratulation to our successful Year 10 Gifted and Talented students who have been granted City Gate G&T  Scholarship. The scholarship will contribute significantly to the personalised support for these Gifted learners as they progress through an important stage in their academic career.

PA’s G&T explores UCL  Horizons

Congratulations to  Al-Hussain Al-Karim and Tsegab Getachew  in Y10 who both  have been offered a place on UCL Horizons Saturday school. UCL Horizons is a long-tem Saturday programme which introduce our students to exciting new areas of learning and aspires them to achieve their best in their GCSE exam.  This is a great achievement for both students as their applications have been successful amongst hundreds of applicants across London.

Gifted Poets Celebrate the National Poetry day

Year 10 and 11 students celebrated the National Poetry Day in an exciting workshop run by Caroline Bird, and award winning poet. Their poems will be published in the ‘Book of Celebration on National Poetry day’. Caroline Bird described our students as ‘one of the most gifted groups’ whom she has worked with.

Gifted and Talented Scientists and Debaters Celebrate Charles Darwin’s 200's Anniversary

Congratulations to the following y10 and 11 students on the fantastic effort and determination they have shown throughout the Darwin project, a two- part event organised by the Linnaean Society of London in celebration of Charles Darwin’s 200 anniversary. These students attended the first workshop on Wednesday, 13th October and have been working hard during tutor time and after school in preparation for the final debate on 4th November. The facilitators and the project manager from the Linnean Society in London were so impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm of our students and some of their comments were, 'We have never had a group of students like yours with so much enthusiasm and potential' or ' they are the best group of students that we have had so far'.

Gifted Historians Celebrate Black History Month at SOAS

A group of Y11 and 13 students celebrated Black History Month in an exciting and lively event at the School of Oriental and African Studies on Thursday, 22nd October.
This unique event was held in Brunei Gallery Lecture Theatre during which two eminent academics gave mini lectures and discussed different perspective and key issues surrounding the legacies of colonialism, the Atlantic slave Trade and African Identities and Responses. Students from across London were also given an opportunity to participate in a debate and question and answer session, with support form SOAS Students Ambassadors.
