BBC Makes Film at Paddington Academy
Nine students - Mustafa Gashi, Thuvahrakan Thangeswaran, Ayoub Taibi, Noor AbdulJabbar, Lebendi Munasinghe, Joan Al- Assam, Ahmed Abou-Khachab, Radeen Moncrieffe, and Belal Mirza - all members of the Paddington Academy BBC School Report Club volunteered to learn the script. Recording went on for two days and on the second day Sophie Long a famous news reporter worked with the team and met everyone involved in the BBC
School Report. She gave School Reporters some advice on how to find, gather and present the news. The film will be put on the BBC School Report website to show schools in the UK how to make a news story for 2010. The objective of this project was to improve student’s skills on photography, film making and how to write a great news story.
Filming took place all around the academy and locations included the dining hall, a class room and the playground. All of the student reporters involved in the project had great fun creating the news reports. Belal Mirza said “the BBC School Report is exciting because we are learning a lot about media.” Thuvahrakan Thangeswaran said “it is good for us because it is a good chance to learn how to use media equipment and it is a step toward working in media in the future”. Ahmed Abou-Khachab said “people get to see us and we had a chance to show our media talent”.
The BBC professionals were full of praise for our Paddington Academy reporters.
For BBC School Report, Mustafa Gashi
