Will Smith Befriends PA Student

On 16th May 2012, PA students were treated to an absolute delight. A group of the most deserving KS3 students had the opportunity to meet Will Smith. The Hollywood actor, visited the Science Museum for a special premiere of the Men in Black 3 film for school students at the museum’s IMAX theatre.

"I’m very excited to be here’ said the star, who met the PA students in front of the Apollo 10 command module in the museum. MIB3 features a journey back in time to 1969, when Apollo 10 staged the dress rehearsal for the first manned moon landing. In a question and answer session in the museum’s IMAX theatre with the students, Will Smith said that he was in the Science Museum ‘because of my passion for maths and science.’

‘My best subject at school was maths,’ explained the star of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And if he had not become a celebrity? Smith told the audience that he would have gone into computer engineering.

The actor made the day extra special for PA student Mahdi Hijazy, Year 9, who after rapping the theme tune of the Fresh Prince was befriended by the actor.

The experience was even more spectacular because the students watched MIB3 film before it actually premiered in Leicester Square.
