Best Results Ever!
76% 5 A* - C GCSEs including English and Maths
47% A* - B at A Level
Congratulations to our GCSE and Sixth Form students who have achieved the highest results the Academy has seen so far.
In summer 2012, at GCSE, 76% of students achieved 5 A*- C grades including English and Maths, improving even further the magnificent 69% achieved last year.
6 years ago, when the Academy opened, only 18% of students achieved 5 A*-C GCSE with English and Maths. This year, that figure is 76%. In addition to this, 27% of all GCSE grades were A* or A, and 64% were A*-B. We have extremely strong performance in the core subjects: 85% of students achieved an A*- C in English and 81% in Maths. In addition, 30% of Maths grades were A* or A. In Science, 97% of students achieve 2 GCSEs graded A*- C.
Students arrive in Year 7 with starting points in English and Maths considerably below national averages. They leave with results considerably above the national average - 76% achieve 5 A*- C including English and Maths versus 57% nationally. We expect all students to make outstanding progress, whatever their starting point. 94% of our students make the expected progress in English (70% nationally) and 94% of students make it in Maths (63% nationally).
In Year 13 the pass rate was of 98% and 47% of entries were graded at A*- B. This means that the majority of students were able to accept their first choices of university. Every Year 13 seeking a university place gained one. Additionally, 10 students gained places at Russell Group universities including Warwick, Durham, York, King`s, UCL and Queen Mary.
We wish all of our students every success as they begin university.
