BBC News School Report 2010
Paddington Academy students took part in the national BBC News School Project. The students spent the day doing research, editing and preparing their work for a 'live' report which can now be seen below. Having been involved since it was started by the BBC in 2007, students have been given the opportunity to create reports and then present it via the website in the style of a live news broadcast.
The day presented real challenges as the report had to go live before the end of the day. This required adherance to a strict agenda, time management and involved team working skills. It also gave the students a chance to gain practical skills in media research and journalism, with technical skills in editing and recording. Overall the day was a success, with some tense moments in between which were handled professionally.
For more information you can find out more on the BBC News School Report page.
