PA Students Continue to Shine at GCSE

74% of students receive 5+A*-C including English and Maths

42% of students gained an A or A* grade in GCSE English

Student gains the highest GCSE score ever in the history of the Academy

 

Students at Paddington Academy are celebrating their GCSE results today, with 74% of students achieving at least five A*-C grades including English and Maths.  

Students performed particularly well in the core subjects with 92% gaining A*-C in English (42% of these were A/A*) and 79% in Maths (32% of these were A/A*).

The Academy has consistently been in the top 10 schools nationally for pupil progress and these results are very likely to maintain this position. 

 

There were some excellent individual successes:

· Lirak Krasniqi gained the highest GCSE score ever by a student at the Academy, achieving 10A* grades (Maths, Further Maths, Core Science, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, History, French, Economics, Media Studies, Citizenship), 1 A grade (English Literature) and 1 B grade (English Language). 


· Miriam Bengougam gained 9 A* grades (English Language, English Literature, Maths, Further Maths, Core Science, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, Geography, Citizenship) and 3 A grades (Computing, French, Sociology). 


· Satra-Sia Sumana-Kissoon gained 8 A* grades (English Literature, Maths, Further Maths, Core Science, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, History, Music ) and 4 A grades (English Language, Art, Economics and Citizenship).

· Izzy El-Dandrawy gained 7 A* grades (English Language, English Literature, Core Science, History, Religious Studies, Sociology, Spanish) and 4 A grades (Maths, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, Citizenship).

· Mahdi Uddin gained 6 A* grades (English Literature, Maths, Further Maths, Additional Science, Business, Religious Studies) and 4 A grades (Science, Further Additional Science, History, Spanish) and 2 B grades (English Language, Citizenship). 

· Qamil Pajaziti gained 6 A* grades (Maths, Further Maths, Core Science, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, Spanish ), 2 A grades (English Literature, Economics) and 3 B grades (English Language, Computing, Drama).

· Max Khovansky gained 5 A* grades (Maths, Further Maths, French, Geography, Russian) and 7 A grades (English Language, English Literature, Core Science, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, Economics, History).

· Ayat Elmsioui gained 5 A* grades (English Language, English Literature, Art, History, Religious Studies) 7 A grades (Maths, Further Maths, Core Science, Additional Science, Arabic, French, Citizenship) and 1 B grade (Further Additional Science).

· Alaa Ibrahim gained 5 A* grades (English Language, Maths, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, History), 5 A grades (Further Maths, Business, Health and Social Care, Spanish, Citizenship) and 1 B grade (English Literature).

· Altina Berjani gained 4 A* grades (English Literature, Maths, Core Science, Geography) and 7 A grades (English Language, Further Maths, Additional Science, Economics, Health and Social Care, Sociology, Citizenship).

· Amiin Barkhadle gained 4 A* grades (Maths, Further Maths, Economics, History), 7 A grades (English Language, English Literature, Core Science, Additional Science, Sociology, Citizenship) and 1 B grade (Spanish).

· Gramos Sylejmani gained 4 A* grades (English Literature, Maths, Core Science, Further Additional Science), 7 A grades (English Language, Additional Science, Further Maths, Computing, Economics, History, Citizenship ) and 1 C grade (Spanish).

· Deborah Edosa gained 3A* grades (English Literature, English Language, Further Additional Science), 8 A grades (Science, Additional Science, Citizenship, History, Maths, Further Maths, Sociology, French) 1 B grade (Physical Education).

 

Katie Gillam, Principal at Paddington Academy, said: “I would like to congratulate all our students celebrating their results today.  I am so pleased to once again see our students rewarded for their hard work throughout their time at Paddington.  We are committed to ensuring that every student, whatever their starting point, has the opportunity to succeed and these results are testament to this."

“I would like to thank all our staff for their hard work and commitment to our students in helping them to achieve.  Many of those celebrating today will be returning to join our large Sixth Form where, last week, we achieved our highest ever A Level results for the third consecutive year.”
