Paddington Academy Students Continue to Excel at GCSE
78% Grade 4+ English and Maths and 64% Grade 5+ !
79% of students gained a 5+ in English

15 grades in English and 15 in Maths were grade 9, the highest grade in the new GCSEs
Students at Paddington Academy are celebrating their GCSE results today, with 78% of students achieving five or more A*-C grades including 4+ in both English and maths and 63% gaining a 5+. Students performed particularly well in the core subjects with 89% gaining a 4+ in English (79% of these grades were 5+) and 83% in maths (37% of these grades were 7+). In addition, 15 grades in English and 15 in maths were awarded the new highest grade of 9.
It is particularly pleasing that over the ten year history of the school, results have continued to improve and have remained consistently high for the sixth consecutive year.
There were some excellent individual successes, including:
Enkhjin Togtokhbayar who gained a grade 9 in English Language and maths and a grade 8 in English Literature. Alongside this, she achieved 5 A* grades (further maths, core science, further additional science, French, geography) and 4 A grades (economics, computing, additional science, citizenship).
Francesco Di Matteo who gained a grade 9 in English Literature, 8 in maths and 6 in English Language. Alongside this, he achieved 6 A* grades (history, Italian, core science, Spanish, music, citizenship) and 4 A grades (additional science, further additional science, economics, drama).
Kokab Barakat who gained a grade 9 in English Literature and English Language and a grade 7 in maths. Alongside this, she achieved 3 A* grades (French, RE, citizenship), 4 A grades (core science, further additional science, drama, sociology) and 2 B grades (Arabic, additional science).
Tania Ahmed who gained a grade 9 in English Language and grade 8 in maths and English Literature. Alongside this, she achieved 1 A* grade (Spanish), 5 A grades (core science, additional science, further additional science, history, health and social care) and 2 B grades in further maths and economics.
Ali Taghdisi-Rad who gained a grade 9 in maths and a grade 7 in English Language and English Literature. Alongside this, he achieved 4 A* grades (further maths, additional science, Italian, Spanish), 3 A grades (history, economics, further additional science) and 1 B grade (core science).
Mahdi Ahmed who gained a grade 9 in maths and a grade 5 in English Language and English Literature. Alongside this, he achieved 3 A* grades (further maths, French, further additional science), 2 A grades (core science, additional science) and 3 B grades (history, economics, physical education).
Hussain Martins who gained a grade 9 in maths, 6 in English Language and 5 in English Literature. Alongside this, he achieved 4 A* grades (further maths, further additional science, French, physical education), 3 A grades (core science, additional science, history) and 2 B grades (business GCSE, citizenship).
Rita Qerimi who gained a grade 9 in maths, 8 in English Language and a grade 7 in English Literature. Alongside this, she achieved 2 A* grades (further maths, French), 5 A grades (core science, further additional science, economics, history, business) and 2 B grades (additional science, citizenship).
Oscar Corriette who gained a grade 9 in English Literature and English Language and a grade 8 in maths. Alongside this, he achieved 3 A grades (core science, additional science, sociology) and 4 B grades (computing, further maths, music, citizenship).
Amir Pajaziti who gained a grade 9 in maths, 6 in English Language and 5 in English Literature. Alongside this he achieved an A* distinction (further maths), 2 A* grades (economics, further additional science), 5 A grades (computing, core science, further additional science, Spanish, sociology) and 1 B grade (citizenship).
Najat Yusuf who gained a grade 8 in Maths and English Literature and a grade 6 in English Language. Alongside this, she achieved 7 A grades (Core Science, Additional Science, Further Additional Science, Drama, History, Sociology, Spanish) and 1 B grade (Citizenship).
Hanna Mahamud who gained a grade 8 in maths and English Literature and a grade 6 in English Language. Alongside this, she achieved 7 A grades (further maths, core science, additional science, French, history, sociology, citizenship) and 2 B grades (economics, further additional science).
