Paddington Academy has Teaching School Hub status

Teaching school hubs are school-led centres of excellence for teacher and leadership training and development. There are 87 hubs across the country and are made up of some of the best schools and multi-academy trusts in the country.

The Central London Teaching School Hub is based at Paddington Academy and serves schools across the boroughs of Camden, Islington, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. We provide programmes across our multi-academy trust, United Learning. We are proud to provide high-quality professional development to teachers at all stages of their careers.

We offer programmes to teachers at all stages of their careers:

• school-based initial teacher training (ITT)
• the early career framework which launched this September
• the new specialist national professional qualifications (NPQ)
• leadership NPQs
• appropriate body services for early career teachers - schools that are not currently appropriate bodies will need to register as an appropriate body after becoming teaching school hubs

Teaching school hubs also promote and deliver other high-quality evidence-based professional development to school leaders and teachers. At the heart of this development is our students; we want to ensure that students in this country receive the best educational opportunities, and that means investing and supporting the continued professional development of our teachers.

RISE Open Education Attendance Matters: Sharing What Works

We’re inviting Attendance Leads and Senior Leaders to join us for a focused morning session on strengthening and sustaining excellent school attendance. Paddington Academy leaders will share the strategies, systems and daily practices that have helped us maintain attendance well above national averages.

You’ll hear practical, proven approaches - from the everyday actions that build a strong attendance culture to the interventions that ensure students are supported to attend consistently. All insights are rooted in real-world experience and ready to apply in your own context straight away.

Attendees will leave with clear, actionable strategies they can implement immediately to strengthen attendance within their own schools.
