PADDINGTON ACADEMY STUDENTS EXCEL AGAIN

Nearly three quarters of students achieve a grade 5 or above in English and maths

Nearly three quarters (72%) of students achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, with 31% achieving a grade 7 or above in both subjects and 84% achieving grade 4+ in both. In addition to this, a record 20% achieved a Grade 9 in Maths and 22% in Religious Studies, a GCSE taken by all students.

Students and staff at Paddington Academy are celebrating today as its Year 13 students once again achieved excellent A level results and the highest results in the history of the school. An impressive 22% of entries achieved the top A* grade and 33% achieved A grades. 86% of results were graded A*-B. The overall pass rate was 100%.

Paddington Academy is celebrating after Year 8 student Yusuf Ismail took home the Maths Award, and Dawn Williams was crowned Teaching Assistant of the Year at United Learning’s Best in Everyone Awards 2022.

Each year the awards honour individuals, teams and departments across the Group for the exceptional contributions they have made to school and community life. This includes recognition for standout academic successes, sporting and musical achievements, and commitment to leadership and service. This year’s ceremony was held at The Queens Hotel in Leeds on June 24th.

PADDINGTON ACADEMY STUDENTS SHINE IN VIRTUAL GREEN LOVE! PERFORMANCE

Students celebrate virtual premiere of Green Love! with thousands of their peers in schools from across United Learning

On Friday, students at Paddington Academy joined together virtually with thousands of their peers from across United Learning to see themselves in the online premiere of Green Love! Songs to save the world.

Green Love! is an ambitious music and performing arts project designed to develop students’ musical talents and encourage them to think more about the environment and how, together, we can protect it. The project culminated in the professional production of a unique thirty-minute film, featuring performances recorded in the 40 schools involved.

Another year of Russell Group success across the school’s Sixth Form, as students receive their university places

Paddington Academy’s Sixth Form has seen another ambitious cohort of students graduate – with university places secured on some of the UK’s most competitive courses.

This will see Year 13 students take their next steps to becoming the doctors, engineers and physicists of the future as they head off to an array of top Russell Group universities after receiving their A Level grades.

Dear Parent, 

We would like to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to keep students safe and prevent the spread of Coronavirus.  We would also like to emphasise that if the outbreak becomes a significant issue, we have procedures in place to manage it.  So far, there have been no cases of the virus at school and we are not aware of anyone travelling to any ‘Category One’ areas (see below).
