Subject: PSHE
Why is PSHE important?
At Paddington Academy, we believe in the development of the whole child, and that they should achieve outstanding outcomes academically and socially, and develop an increased awareness of the world around them as they develop.
Our PSHE curriculum is designed to give students the knowledge and skills required to keep themselves healthy and safe, thrive as informed and contributing members of society, and live happy and fulfilled lives.
Our curriculum centres around six important areas which students will study at increasing depth and breadth as they progress through the year groups; Relationships, Mental and Physical Health, Citizenship, Future Careers, Financial Education, and the Paddington Academy values.
In KS5 students will study:
At KS5, students study a range of themes through PSHE which are designed to support their academic and personal development. Students are given the opportunity to look at and discuss a range of issues which are particularly relevant to them as young adults, including Citizenship, mental and physical health, and relationships. Through PSHE, students develop an understanding of the habits needed for independent learning and study, both in the Sixth Form and at university.
